A classic Wetherspoons breakfast will be only £2.24 as part of the Government’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme.

More than 700 Spoons will be taking part in the government initiative, which sees people get 50% off food and soft drinks up to the maximum value of £10 per head.

The scheme runs from August 3rd to August 31st on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.

And there are some serious bargains to be had at Spoons!

The price of a traditional breakfast, which includes a free-range egg, bacon rasher, Lincolnshire sausage, hash brown, baked beans and coffee will be just £2.24.

You can add on a free refill of tea or coffee for just 65p.

Or go all out for a classic burger with a soft drink of your choice for just £2.50. You’ll also be able to get a kids meal for £2.08.

Founder Tim Martin said: “Thanks to the Government scheme, an individual is £2.93 better off eating and drinking at Wetherspoon than purchasing a similar range of products at Tesco.

“Over a 13 day period, customers would save £38.09. As Tesco’s customers will appreciate, every little helps.

“Prices at some of our town and city centre pubs are higher and the comparison with Tesco does not work in these cases. However, the vast majority of our pubs will be offering a range of meals with a drink at unbeatable prices.”

More than 32,000 restaurants have signed up to the scheme including Nando’s, Wagamama and McDonald’s
