Pupils at secondary schools will have to wear masks while in the classroom, according to reports today.

When children return to school they will reportedly now have to wear a face covering at all times.

Older children will be asked to wear a mask both at their desks and in corridors, according to an ITV News report.

While head teachers could previously use their own discretion when it came to wearing masks in schools, the rule is set to be made compulsory.

Ministers are looking to strengthen mask rules in schools as a way of boosting parents’ confidence that they’re safe.

According to reports today, ministers have confirmed that schools in England will reopen to all children on March 8th.

And when schools return it will reportedly be all pupils in all year groups at the same time, rather than a staggered approach.

The prime minister is revealing details of his roadmap to get the country out of lockdown this afternoon, and is set to address MPs at 3.30pm today.
