Subway worker spotted ‘with hands down the back of his pants’

If you’ve just had a Subway for your dinner, you might want to look away now.

A woman was left disgusted this week, after she saw a Subway worker with what appears to be his hands down the back of his trousers behind the counter.

The 30-year-old woman – who didn’t want to be named – says the photo was taken at the Accrington branch on Union Street, while she was waiting with her partner on Monday morning, the Bolton News reports.

 She said: “I was in there and did not eat but was waiting with my partner who was having some food. I just looked around and saw it and it looked like he was scratching and I watched for a minute then decided to take a photograph and posted it on Snapchat and Facebook.

“It is absolutely disgusting and I won’t be going into that Subway again. I said to my partner, have you seen that? You have just eaten and he is doing that. It is just wrong on so many levels.

“I did not know until I posted it on Facebook but people have also said that he is leaning on the preparation table and that is even worse. I could not believe it and I am not ever eating in there again.”

Ironically, the branch recently got a five star hygiene rating at last inspection.

According to the woman, the gross incident happened around 9.20am on Monday morning.

She added: “It makes me sick. Some people are saying that they put gloves on before serving food but that is not the point, they have to get the gloves first with their hands.

“It is just revolting to think that we could be eating in there. There are dangers of cross-contamination and you should not be doing that there.”
