Lotus is releasing two new chocolate bars just in time for the festive season, and they look delicious.

Fans of the caramelised treat will be buzzing to hear that Lotus is releasing two new chocolate bars this year – although sadly they won’t be hitting UK shelves straight away.

Whether you like your chocolate smooth and creamy or with a crunch, you’re covered for both with the new bars!

They’re made with creamy milk chocolate, one studded with broken bits of the iconic caramelised biscuit and the other being actually filled with Biscoff spread.

Speaking about the new bars in a half-year statement, Lotus said: “The unique Biscoff taste forms the basis for a specially developed new range of Lotus Biscoff chocolate.

“Following the recent launch of both the Biscoff Sandwich Cookie and the new international range of Biscoff Ice Cream, the next Biscoff innovation will be launched in the second half of the year.

“The range will consist of two varieties: milk chocolate with crunchy Biscoff pieces and milk chocolate with smooth Biscoff spread filling.

“Both varieties will be available as bars and in a mini version.”

Currently the bars are set to hit supermarket shelves in Belgium this autumn, so it means us Brits will have to wait a little longer before we can get our hands on them.

But CEO of Lotus, Jan Boone, has hinted they could be being rolled out internationally so keep those fingers crossed.

Jan said: “I am particularly pleased with the strength of Lotus Biscoff and the extraordinary growth that we have achieved.

“I am convinced that the introduction of our latest innovation, Biscoff Chocolate, will further boost Biscoff’s global potential.”

Hopefully we’ll be able to get these down Tesco soon – although I’m sure they’ll pop up online as soon as they’re out in Belgium, so keep your eyes peeled.

Aldi has knocked it out of the park this week with the launch of their ‘churros with chocolate’ flavoured gin.

Yep, it’s the churros and gin combo you never knew you needed.

Now, there’s no disputing the fact that the combination of churros and melted chocolate is definitely one of the more elite desserts out there – but have you ever envisioned chocolate churros whipped up into an alcoholic treat?

Probably not – but, as always, Aldi is on hand to make your chocolatey-boozy dreams come true.

The Churros with Chocolate Gin Liqueur, made by The Infusionist and stocked by Aldi, was brought to the attention of the internet by the food blogging Instagram account, Kevs Snack Reviews.

Of course, Instagram users were very impressed by the new boozy offering, with one writing: “Need to get it for the next cocktail night,” and another tagging their friend while noting: “We need to get our hands on this one.”

Admittedly, this gin may be a little bit sweet for some, but picture it in a gin espresso martini or as a twist on a pornstar martini.

I’ve convinced you, haven’t I?

Priced at £7.99 the chocolate churros gin liqueur is available both online and in stores, joining the likes of Lemon Drizzle Cake gin liqueur, Raspberry Jam Donut gin liqueur, and Salted Caramel Cupcake gin liqueur.
