Bring Back the Cadbury Spira Chocolate Bar / Facebook
Last week the news broke that Cadbury is bringing back its Bournville Old Jamaica chocolate bars in 2020. After posting about the revival, you lot took to the comments to tell us which retro chocolate bars you’d like to see return. After trawling through them all there was a clear winner, the Cadbury Spira bar, and it turns out there’s a lot of support for this online already – including a petition and Twitter and Facebook pages dedicated to its return.
Spira was a hollow chocolate spiral produced by Cadbury from the mid-1980s until 2005, with each pack containing two fingers. The bar was initially only available in the North West and South West of England, before being rolled out across the country in 1989. And you guys really want to see them back, with Kerstie Dayson saying: “Bring back my favourite Spira, please.”
Steven Edward wasn’t impressed by the return of Old Jamaica, saying ‘so what bring back the Spira’, while Stephanie Tomlinson agreed, simply saying ‘bring back the Spira’. The support for Spira was strong, and if you want to get them back there’s actually a petition you can get involved with here – there are also numerous others online that have now ended, so let’s get our voices heard this time.
