With the countdown to Christmas nearing the climax, another aspect of the festive season is also coming to a close – the Christmas No1.

So who will it be this year? While there’s been some strong entries, it looks like internet sensation LadBaby is set to take the crown for the second year straight.

Last year he stormed to number one with his parody song We Built This City on Sausage Rolls, beating Ava Max and Ariana Grande in the process.

LadBaby, whose real name is Mark Hoyle, will join illustrious musical names like the Beatles and the Spice Girls as one of the only artists to get two festive number ones in consecutive years.

This year he’s got a different song, about… sausage rolls.

Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and 2019’s entry is a homage to classic 1981 hit I love Rock ‘n’ Roll, called I Love Sausage Rolls.

All the money raised will be donated to foodbank charity The Trussell Trust – last year he managed to raise enough for 70,000 food packages, which were donated to people struggling to afford to eat.

I Love Sausage Rolls was comfortably on the top spot at last count, with the results being officially confirmed later today, having sold 77,988 copies of the single by Wednesday, December 18th.

This is ahead of Stormzy and Ed Sheeran’s song Own It, which sold 49,252 to land it in number two, followed by Wham! (3), Lewis Capaldi (4) and Dua Lipa (5).
