A lorry shed its load and released hundreds of unopen Kopparberg cider cans across the A50 early this morning.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted to ‘expect delays’ after a lorry ‘shed its load’ of Koppaberg cans across the A50 junction with A515 Sudbury.

The incident happened at about 2am and the road only opened at 6am after contractors cleared the debris.

A later Tweet added that the road has been reopened ‘following a quick response by recovery agents and highways contractors’. They added that the road is now ‘clear for your journey this morning’.

The pictures attached to the original Tweet show that the parked Knights of Old logistics lorry’s blue Tarpaulin curtain looks to have been ripped.

Unfortunately, this means the cans have now all been cleared away for those looking for a cheeky bargain.
