A man has taken social distancing to the extreme, enjoying a picnic at the top of a 60ft tree.

A group of pals spotted a man taking a breather at the top of a huge tree in a park in Bath last Wednesday (July 22nd).

Dai Barrow, who spotted the man, was obviously taken aback after seeing a person perched pretty precariously on a thin branch in Royal Victoria Park.

Barrow couldn’t understand how the individual even got up the tree, which he estimated was between 50 and 60 feet.

Barrow, who lives in Bath, said the figure looked like he was enjoying a picnic and was using a pair of binoculars to admire the view.

Taking to Facebook, Barrow said: “How did he get up there?” with a video captioned ‘social distancing at its finest’ attached.

He added: “I think he has binoculars too. Social distancing at its best.

“Just having a little picnic at the top of the tree. What a lad.”

He told Somerset Live, he couldn’t quite believe what he had seen even a few days later.

He said: “I couldn’t quite tell what he was doing. He kept moving something to his face, maybe a drink, maybe binoculars?”

“I couldn’t really make it out. I would guess he was 50-60ft off the ground.

“I have no idea how he got up there. None of us saw him get up there and we didn’t stick around to see him come down.

“It seemed as if he was there alone as no-one else was waiting for him at the bottom.”

Fair play…
