Videos shared on TikTok show how the a Spoons chef makes curries and breakfast, and it might come as a bit of a surprise…

Chef J Salsa joked that he does not get ‘paid enough’ in a video of him reheating plastic packets of rice in the microwave and precooking a naan on the grill.

It came as a huge shock to some people that Wetherspoons’ food was made in a microwave!

In a series of ‘how to cook Wetherspoons’ dishes, the TikTok star has revealed all the secrets of the kitchens.

He went on to explain: “First up, warm up your defrosted chicken curry in the microwave for about two or three minutes along with your rice for another two minutes.

“Then I prepared these poppadoms earlier so just slap it on the plate. When your rice is ready slap it on the plate. I don’t get paid enough for this.

“Put your curry into the special traditional curry bowl, imported straight from India, custom made just for spoons. Then put your bread onto the plate.”

His ‘how to make a Wetherspoons chicken korma curry’ video has racked up over one million views and thousands of comments, with many people in dismay they’re ‘paying for microwave meals’.

One user commented “U ARE JOKING” while another wrote: “Don’t know why I expected better from spoons but I did”.

One pointed out ‘you mean to tell me I pay £7.50 for a microwave meal’, but others explained that you are ‘pretty much a microwave technician in that place’.

Another Spoons employee added: “I work at Spoons too and why y’all surprised its microwaved? It legit comes in 5 minutes you really think everything is made fresh?’

In a ‘how to make a Wetherspoons traditional breakfast’ video, where the egg is freshly fried as well as the freshly grilled bacon, fans were actually surprised that the full English wasn’t all prepared in a microwave.

One user commented ‘I genuinely thought spoons kitchens only had microwaves in’.

It seems some dishes are fresh but the chefs definitely rely on the microwave for others. Will it stop you going to Spoons or do you not mind?
