Fans who are eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the BBC series will be pleased to know it’s coming back to screens very soon.
After it was revealed in November last year that the BBC police drama will be making a return to screens ‘sometime’ in March following nearly a two year break, fans have been dying to know exactly when.
Well, finally, Line of Duty’s creators have issued an exciting update.
The sixth series of the show is set to feature an extra episode – meaning one whole hour more of gripping drama.
The official Line of Duty Twitter account wrote: “Listen up, fellas. When the gaffer asks for more, you better deliver. #LineOfDuty returns for Series 6 with an extra episode (7 instead of 6).
“Coming soon to @BBCOne and @BBCiPlayer.”
The tweet also featured a 20-second clip which sees Detective Inspector Ted Hastings tell DS Steve Arnott he ‘needs more’ to launch a formal inquiry, a ‘hell of a lot more’ – only for him to reply: “How about an extra episode, gaffer?”
Safe to say, fans are buzzing.
One wrote: “It can’t come soon enough! I think a lot of us need some form of escapism from reality right now.”
A second added: “Oh Christ can we just have it now please? It’s been a hard year. I need this.”
Who’s excited?
