Peaky Blinders is looking for extras in Manchester for the new season
You might have to shave your head!
Filming of season six of Peaky Blinders is due to begin next year, and they’ll be heading back to Manchester for some scenes and need extras.
Filming of the smash-hit BBC drama was paused due to the coronavirus pandemic but the cameras are set to start rolling again in the New Year after fans spotted heavy hints in a casting advert.
The post from talent agency LB Casting Ltd says it’s recruiting extras for ‘a very well-known BBC period drama shooting early 2021 in Manchester’.
The advert features a silhouette of a man with a newsboy cap famously worn by Tommy Shelby and his Peaky Blinder associates.
The biggest hint on the advert comes via the wording. It states that male actors ‘must be willing to shave hair if required’ and ‘by order of LB casting’.
The agency based in Leeds has previously provided talent for Peaky Blinders.
This time around, they are casting men and women of all ethnicities with ‘natural looks that can portray a true reflection of the time period being told’.
This means you need to have no piercings, visible tattoos, false nails, tattooed or drawn eyebrows, or eyelash extensions.
Women must have mid to shoulder length hair that isn’t dyed with no obvious highlights and around a dress size of 12.
For the blokes, there must be no ‘modern’ hair cuts including fades, dye or obvious highlights and you must be willing to have their head shaved if required.
The men must have chest measurements no bigger than 44 inches and have no modern beards or facial hair.
Extras are set to be paid at PACT Equity rates, however, travel and accommodation expenses will not be included.
The advert states: “Ideally we are looking for people who drive due to early call times and late finishes. Please ensure you can independently get to and from Manchester outside of peak times”.
