A huge drive-in cinema is coming to Manchester this summer, as it heads round the UK on tour.
@TheDriveIn will be showing six films in our city, from family friendly classics to late night blockbusters.
The event plans to go ahead while following social distancing guidelines, with each car two metres apart, and registration plates checked against bookings so there’s no contact between guests and staff.
You’ll be able to get food delivered to your car via an app, with American-style dishes and snacks being served by waiters and waitresses on roller skates.
And health workers will be able to get free tickets, with ten available for each screening to NHS staff and care workers to say thanks for their hard work.
Alan Crofton, organiser of @TheDriveIn: “We are incredibly excited to bring our modern day version on the classic drive in to the UK this summer.
“Expect a myriad of entertainment from comedy to silent car discos to delicious American-style food delivered directly to your cars ahead of watching your favorite film.
“Our aim for @TheDriveIn to be an experience that brings real joy this summer and the perfect antidote to a post-lockdown world, and we promise to deliver it within a safe yet fun environment. See you at the drive in.”
Tickets are on sale from May 27th and to get involved head over to the website here – it’ll be in Manchester from Thursday July 16th until Sunday July 19th.
