If you’re missing nightclubs then we’ve got some good news, as a massive outdoor club is opening in Manchester this summer. Square One will be taking over an old car park near Piccadilly station, transforming the space into a huge outside nightclub. National and international DJs are set to appear as part of its weekly event programme over summer, with parties running into the night.
According to organisers it will be ‘a beacon of light in the return to clubbing’, and will host parties running from mid-afternoon until 11pm.
Nightclubs and live music will be the last to reopen under the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, and are already among the sectors most affected by the pandemic.
Nightclubs will only be able to open again from June 21st at the earliest, during the stage of lockdown easing where most restrictions are expected to be lifted. Square One plans to open on June 26th, if restrictions allow, with Denis Sulta, Enzo Siragusa and Hot Since 82 performing at the big launch party. The summer will see several other parties, including from Zutekh, Jika Jika, Animal Crossing and PIV from Amsterdam – who will be performing in Manchester for the first time.
