Altrincham is set to get a new food and beverage hub made from shipping containers.

The hub comes from the team behind The Con Club and UNAGI street food and will be built in the area next to Everyman Cinema on Central Way.

The thriving new community space will house a variety of local traders serving up delicious food and drink.

‘One Central’ has initial plans of providing takeaway and delivery services throughout lockdown followed by an official launch in December when restrictions are lifted.

There will be a brand new heated outdoor terrace where guests can relax, drink and dine under a giant disco ball.

David Vanderhook, owner & founder of The Con Club said: “It’s been an incredibly tough year for hospitality, more now that ever it’s important that we radiate community spirit through a joint passion for food and drink.

“We want to champion smaller operators and independents that have a fantastic product to preview, but no platform to do so. We co-founded takeaway UNAGI street food on the cusp of the first lockdown, trading from a small airstream on Central Way and the response was incredible.

“We’ve since established a loyal following and we want other local traders to have that opportunity without the worry of extortionate rent and rates!!”

Of the first to take residence are local chefs, Luke Barnes and Brent Norbury of Choza. They’ll be bringing an ever-changing menu of South Americana and European inspired dishes.

They will be joined by owner of award winning Tatton Perk Coffee, Mark Lee-Kigariff who will be bringing a ‘Coffee Winter Wonderland’. Expect award-winning hot chocolates and artisan donuts from lockdown start-up Holy Dough.

The resident of the final container is yet to be revealed but there are plans to offer ‘guest slots’ to budding street food traders.

Altrincham’s already popular and amazing food and drink scene just got a heck of a lot bigger! Find out more here
